The Abundant Life Beyond Death

By Allison Pearson, “A Letter From Jesus On Healing” creator

The words I speak to you are spirit and they are life.” - John 6:33

I remember feeling guilty at times in the months following the death of my husband, Richard, to a brain tumor. I had become so radically transformed by the love of God, there was simply no room for sadness in my heart. I knew that Richard was now FREE from the chains of sickness, more alive than EVER in heaven, and that I will see him again one day.  My joy superseding any moments of sadness came from knowing how much Jesus loves me, and I was bursting with a desire for people to know how much He loves them, too!

It was about 18 months after Richard went to heaven when I sat down to begin writing what I felt God was putting on my heart to share with others.  Something I’d been carrying that I just could not not express!

What I carried came from the 11-month span of time of going through my husband’s health crisis.  During that time, I had become so immersed in God’s Word that I felt like the prophet Jeremiah, who said the Word was like a fire shut up in his bones. I had such a desire for others to know the things I had learned about God’s great love for us and exactly what Jesus’ sacrifice had accomplished. As I wrote, it just began flowing out of me.  It now poured out in the form of a letter, as if Jesus was speaking directly to me.

Out of that experience came what now exists as “A Letter From Jesus On Healing.”

I remember the tears and feelings of awe and amazement as He spoke what I wrote.  I knew it was the Holy Spirit who was really the One writing it; I was just the vessel. I felt as if I had been born for that moment in time, and I knew that this message was a tool that God would use to bring salvation, healing and deliverance to multitudes.  Even now, nearly 10 years after its completion and release, I’m still learning things myself from the healing instrument God used me to create.

The Lord gave me the whole vision of what the presentation and packaging would be:  A rolled scroll with a wax seal, placed inside of a velvet-lined “book treasure” box, together with a narrated version of the letter's scriptural contents (complete with dramatized sound effects!), spoken in a man’s voice representing Jesus.  I had no idea how to go about creating this vision, but God brought each person and resource into my path that I needed in order to bring it to life.

Since the release of “A Letter From Jesus On Healing,” I’ve received so many personal stories from people telling me how it has brought them healing, deliverance, and/or freedom and restoration in unexpected areas.  One individual described it as “A mini-Bible teaching all of the foundational principles of the Word; God’s love, faith, our identity in Christ and authority.”

Although nothing is a substitute for the Holy Bible, I understand what this description means.  What God gave me to impart within this letter is so deep and so wide, it essentially encapsulates all of the principles of truth and the gospel that we need to live the abundant life.

What, exactly, is the abundant life?

I’ve learned in my journey that the abundant life is overflowing with joy even as you are in the valley of the shadow of death.  The abundant life is facing hard things and new beginnings with an unexplainable peace that is so real, it is tangible.  The abundant life comes when you know Jesus up close and personal, at the deepest and most intimate level.

When you know Jesus that well, then His Well makes all of the things that used to be hard in life seem...EASY!

Fruits of living the abundant life.

It’s easy to forgive.  It’s easy to forgive much knowing you are forgiven much! Jesus teaches us to love the sinner and not the sin. The more you are transformed by the renewing of your mind in the Word of God, the more you conform to His image and likeness…seeing others the way Jesus sees them. One of the testimonies I received was about a young couple who was contemplating divorce. Listening to the “Letter From Jesus On Healing” brought restoration and renewal to their relationship. Forgiveness is a ‘master key’ in all aspects of healing.

It’s easy to know and embrace your identity. The Word tells us we are “born again” and we became a “new creation in Christ”. Your spirit has been perfected in Christ and you have His DNA in you!  We are now children of God whereby you may now refer to Him as Abba, Father. Oh, what a wonderful thing to be joined to the family of God, knowing Whose you are, what you have, and what you can do with it!

It’s easy to have hope.  When you know Jesus and you spend time with Him -- in His Word -- your perspective changes about the way you see things. Faith is the substance of things “hoped” for being made evident in the things not seen and God promises to keep you in perfect peace when your mind is stayed on Him.

It’s easy to to walk in the authority you have in Jesus. The enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly! Jesus conquered the grave and was victorious in death; the same power that raised Him from the dead dwells in us. Part of Jesus’ atoning work was to equip us with His armor and His authority. So many scriptures talk about our adversary as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour...but he is no match for the authority that we now walk in.  Keep the enemy at bay and quench every fiery dart with your words. Submit to God, resist the enemy and He will flee!

It’s easy to overcome strongholds.  One of my favorite testimonies is from a young woman who was an alcoholic and told by her doctor that her organs were shutting down and that if she continued drinking, she was going to die. Someone sent her a “Letter From Jesus On Healing” (written version in scroll form) and because she was so determined to overcome, she read its healing message over and over daily.  Guess what happened?  She received God’s healing power that delivered her from the stronghold of alcoholism.  It transformed her life! Hallelujah!

It’s easy to love the unloveable. God’s love is the foundation of faith. It is upon the revelation of God’s great love for us that our faith works. Jesus told his disciples that the great and first commandment is to love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all of your soul and all of your mind. He went on to say that the second commandment, to love your neighbor as yourself is equally important and that all of the law and the Word of the prophets hung on those two commandments. It truly is easy to love others when you understand how much God loves you! I believe this revelation is a key to the kingdom of heaven. If you don’t feel like you are one of His favorites, then you may not have that revelation deeply rooted in you yet. Often times my heart goes out to those who may not “seem very lovable.” I can actually feel God’s love in me, being poured out to them. I even find myself hugging people and praying for people that I don’t even know.  The Word teaches us to see the person, and not the sin.  God’s love in us breaks down the barriers that might otherwise prevent us from loving them. God is Love!

It’s easy to see what you couldn’t see before and hear what you couldn’t hear.  Jesus said that He came to open the eyes of the blind.  He didn’t just mean physically!  He also said those who have an ear to hear, let him hear what the Lord is saying. My spiritual ears and eyes have been opened to so many things. I know this is due in part to the renewing of my mind in the Word of God, but primarily these spiritual senses have been exercised by the empowering and baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is amazing what Holy Spirit will show you and speak to you in prayer, how deep He will take you in the scriptures, and how He will impart gifts to you. I think this is why Jesus told the disciples to “wait” after his resurrection from the dead. He told them to “WAIT” until the Holy Spirit (the helper) came to endue/endow them with power on the day of Pentecost. I believe this is so that they would each be an effective witness to preach the gospel. If the disciples needed it to be effective witnesses, then we do too!  Scripture also says that Holy Spirit will teach us all things and bring to our remembrance all things that Jesus has spoken, so it’s easy to hear and see when you are sensitive to His leading.

It’s easy to be used as God’s vessel In new ways. God’s will for your life has reason and purpose.  There is no greater joy than being in the center of His will!  He has equipped you for every good work and is working in you to do what is pleasing in His sight. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven!

It’s easy to obey an assignment from God even when you’re not in the mood.  I’ve had selfish moments when I’ve heard or felt God say “minister to that person,” and quite honestly, I just didn’t feel like it.  But I did it anyway, and I saw miracles happen. I’m a little embarrassed to admit how many occasions I was “too busy” when I felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit to pray for someone – like the time I heard the doorbell ring while I had company visiting. I opened the door to a man who had come to do the monthly pest-control spraying, and I immediately noticed the look of pain on his face and  heard the Lord say, “Pray for him.”  My first thought was “No, I have company and its just not a good time...” but I quickly resisted that thought and obeyed the prompting instead. The instant I laid hands on him to pray, I felt all resistance go and within a minute, the man was jumping up and down praising God for His miracle!

I’ve been called an angel more than once, and I’m always quick to give God all the glory.  I have also learned that if it’s not my thought to minister, then it is definitely the Holy Spirit’s and this is when I will undoubtedly see Him at work through me. Obedience is better than sacrifice.

It’s easy to embrace new beginnings.  After my husband left this earth, I didn’t plan to date. I didn’t want to date.  I also didn’t feel like going to an event some friends had invited me to, but after multiple invites to different things I finally agreed to attend. Ten minutes after I arrived, I was already about to make my secret exit when suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder as I was introduced to my future new husband, Jeff.  I heard the Lord say, “This is my gift to you. He is mine and I’m giving him to you.

Prior to going to that gathering, I was perfectly happy being married to my late husband who had moved to heaven, as well as being married to Jesus. I had no interest in dating let alone marrying again. But God knew what He was doing. In the months following, I remember feeling like the most blessed person and thinking, God, what did I ever do to deserve this much love? and hearing Him reply, “You didn’t do anything honey, Jesus did it all.”

Jeff and I have been married for almost 15 years now and I am still amazed by the goodness of God. He provides every blessing in Christ Jesus; when we live and move and have our being in Him, we CAN AND WILL experience His abundance!

It’s easy to experience physical and emotional healing.  Why?  Because it comes in supernatural ways! I’ll never forget when shortly after losing Richard, I received a call from my doctor’s office because it was time for my thyroid T3, T4 levels to be checked. I suddenly realized I had not taken my medication for months while going through my husband’s health crisis. It occurred to me that I had been healed while believing for Richard’s healing. I kept my appointment, telling the doctor during my visit that I didn’t need the medicine anymore because Jesus healed me. As you can imagine, I got a “You’re Kookoo” look from the doctor. I was a little nervous to share my faith, but at the same time I’d never felt so liberated!  The doctor asked me if he could do some blood work and I agreed with confidence, knowing it would be normal. A few days later, he called to inform me that I was right, Jesus had healed me!  I had no further need for treatment or medication.

Another example of healing would be when I woke up one morning sick with a fever and a bladder infection and as bad as I felt, I had already planned a big day planting flowers. I already bought mulch and flowers and was excited to get to work but I was so sick I didn’t think I was going to be able to when suddenly I remembered I had authority over the sickness that had attacked me. I was not going to let the enemy defeat me and so I began to speak to my mountain. I commanded that fever to go and spoke healing scriptures out of my mouth. I learned previously that praying for healing was not going to God begging for help and telling him what the enemy had done to me but rather speaking directly to my mountain and telling the enemy what Jesus had already done for me. I proceeded with my work moving very slowly at first continually speaking to my body until I realized that the sickness had left. I felt great and spent the remainder of the day in my flower garden praising Jesus.

There are so many more personal stories of God’s healing power in my own life and in the lives of my loved ones and friends. It comes in so many ways. For example I’ve seen miracle working power follow the preaching of the Word. I’ve seen it come following the prayer of faith. I’ve seen it come through the act of authority and I’ve seen healing transformation come thru the renewing of the mind, meditating on God’s Word. God’s Word is Spirit and Life!

I could go on and on with more examples of how the abundant life is easy, because God’s blessings are endless for His children who are living life for Him.  I hope what I have shared above helps at least give a glimpse of what it looks and feels like.

Friend, if you’ve read this far and are thinking to yourself, I want what Allison has!  I want to experience the abundant life beyond loss due to death and whatever trials or tribulations this life on earth brings…I share for you, below, a few guiding steps to begin experiencing the abundance that intimacy with Jesus brings!

How to begin living the abundant life.

Get into God’s Word at a level you never have before.  Spend intentional, one-on-one time with Jesus — the One Who IS the WORD!!  His Word is the life-giving force. We do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. He has prepared a table for us in the presence of our enemies. Dining at His table is like a smorgasbord. Eat and drink until you are full to overflowing!

Learn to recognize God's voice speaking to you. God speaks to us all differently, in a way that we each personally can relate to Him. I personally feel like God’s little girl. Often times I feel I am pestering Him like the little girl tugging on her Papa’s coattail asking Him questions...and He always calls me by name in His deep, loving voice. He says, “Allison.” and I reply, “Yes Lord!”

Pray in the Spirit.  Remember that on the Day of Pentecost, the Apostles were endued with power by the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I think this is another key to kingdom living. Scripture also teaches us that when we pray in tongues, we are allowing the Holy Spirit to intercede for us.  So when you don’t know what to pray, Holy Spirit does!  There are so many scriptures in the Bible about praying in tongues, like how we edify and build ourselves up on our most Holy faith.

I’ve heard some say that praying in tongues is not for today — it was only for times spoken of in the Bible.  I say, if it’s in the Bible then I want it!  I tell people, “You might as well tear those pages out if you don’t believe it is for today.”  I don’t know about you, but I’m not tearing ANYTHING out of God’s Word!! I encourage you to pray in the Spirit/in tongues daily. If you have not received this baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and you want it, then simply get in your quiet place and ask Holy Spirit for it. Then as an act of your faith you must open your mouth and allow the utterance to come forth. Don’t let the enemy steal this powerful gift from you!

In closing, I hope what I have learned about the abundant life beyond death encourages you to embrace the same abundance God has revealed to me. It is available to all who seek Him and choose to live their lives for Him!

About Allison Pearson

Allison Pearson sits at a desk with books behind her and books on the desk. She is hold a pen.

After facing the personal tragedy of losing a loved one to terminal illness, Allison Pearson began her quest to seek God for answers. She quickly learned that her confession of faith as a Christian most of her life had been nothing more than a “title” than it had had been an actual relationship with God. Revelation after revelation revealed to her the love of God and opened the eyes of her understanding to her new identity in the finished work of Jesus Christ and all that His blood has atoned for. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and God’s perfect will for healing, Allison created “A Letter from Jesus on Healing.” This powerful message proclaims the finished work of Christ and how it applies not only to healing for your mind and body, but ALL areas of your life. Allison has made this life-transforming message available as a scrolled letter, accompanied by a dramatized audio CD, which brings the message to life as a beautiful and unique healing gift set on her LETTERS FROM JESUS  website.
